Course Reflection:
Course Reflection: This course is going to help me to become a better teacher and help me relate to my student in a more interesting way. I have learned how to use blogs, presentations, concept map, and other helpful tools. I feel strong about pretty much all of the things I have learned in the course. I may need to work harder on understanding the blogs a bit better though. I have learned that I can use youtube and google to help figure things out with technology on my own. I will do this alot I bet whenever I begin my teahcing career. I will use technology in the classroom to keep the interest of my students. I will have a blog that they can go look at and see what is due and other things about the course. Presentations will help me reley the information in a way that will help the students learn better. I think that this course has prepared me to be a better teacher than before. Technology is a useful tool and I tend to use it to my advantage throughout my teaching career.

Evan Nichelson IT 365 Assignment 6- Turn It In Technology is all around us these days and is forever changing and evolving. The purpose of Technology is to help us with different task and for entertainment purposes, for both male and females. Both genders may use technology for different things that are positive and productive. However, technology does very often get abused in negative ways. There are many concerns involving social, ethical, legal, and human issues of technology. Males and females may have different uses for the technology they use. The gender gap and gender bias in technology is a concern. 74% of college-bound males have a positive opinion of computing and computer science as a possible college major or career. While, college-bound females, regardless of race and ethnicity, are significantly less interested than boys are in computing. This is proof that the gap between men and women when using computers exist. Girls begin to lose interest in computers and technology as they get older. Girls have other priorities as they get older. They begin to worry about things going on within their circles. One reason girls may be uninterested in technology is that they don't know any women who work in the industry. Women like the opportunities the net gives them to make and maintain human connections. A woman's use of the net is more likely to involve greater use of e-mail as well as searches for health and medical information, map directions and religious material. Computer and video games have become among the most popular leisure time activities for children, adolescents, and young adults in Western and Asian societies. The computer game industry is a billion-dollar business and its products have become a major part of today's media landscape. However, a substantial gender difference in computer game involvement has been observed, both in the U.S. and in Germany, despite the use of digital games being on the rise. Many studies conducted in social science fields such as psychology report that girls and young women display less interest in digital games, have less game-related knowledge, and play less frequently and for shorter durations than do boys and young men. On the other hand, Men tend to be first to try out new net technologies and 68% of the men questioned are the administrator of a household's computer compared to 45% of women. The percentage of women using the internet still lags slightly behind the percentage of men, 68% of men are net users, compared to 66% of women. Men were also more likely to use the net for recreation and to listen to music, gather information for hobbies and take part in online fantasy sports leagues. 74 percent of boys—regardless of race or ethnicity—reported that a college major in computer science was a “very good” or “good” choice for them, but only 10 percent of girls rated it as a “very good” choice and 22 percent rated it as “good.” Parents and teachers encourage and discourage the use of technology by females in different ways. Many teachers may encourage their female students to focus on different things other than technology, because fewer than one-quarter of computer science and mathematics degrees are awarded to women from universities and colleges. However, there are other parents and instructors encourage females from feeling discouraged about using technology. Since women are half the work force, more need to be involved with everyday technology and not be discouraged about the fact the men usually hold this types of positions. Technology has come a long way very fast. It is a very helpful resource that allows information to be passed along. Men and women both can benefit from technology in many different ways. As long as it is not abused both genders need to be involved with the advancement of technology. The Turn It assignment showed me how this whole process works. I was unaware of how to use it before. This will help to keep my students honest. I will definitely use this when needed. I enjoyed seeing how it worked and now I know now how important doing my own work really is.
The assistive technology assignment taught me alot. I knew there were many different types of assistive technology tools but this assignment went into a whole different level with assistive technology. This will help me help student in my classroom with disabilities to be able to participate in certain assignments that may be difficult for them. I learned different things about the computer that I was unaware of.
I did my movie on my senior year baseball team. There were 8 of us seniors. We were really close and all best friends and won a district championship and played for a South State Championship. This movie project showed me there are more ways to get information across to students. I can use images to teach lessons and give a different look at the material. It will be very helpful in my teaching career.
https://sites.google.com/site/coachnicsroom/home My website tells about how I want to mangage my classroom. It has a little bit of me mixed up in it so that the students and parents can feel a connection. I think that this will be a good way of communication. I tend to do this for my classes so that parents and students can always be updated. I think that it is important for a child's education to have communication. I also think that back information on me will help the student feel more comfortable.

My Presentation: 7 continents of the world

This was something that I figured every student should learn at an early age. Presentations are a good way to get information across in a manner that will hold the students attention. I will for sure use presentations throughout my teaching career.

I chose to do the 5 parts of speech for my concept map. It is important for people to know the right way to speak english. The 5 parts of speech: noun, verb, preposition, adverb, and adjective are the basic part of the english language. My concept map shows what the purpose of each part of speech is and what function they carry out. Concept maps will be helpful to reley information in a way that student can visual see and will help them understand the information better.

Introduction

My name is Evan Nichelson.  I am from Picayune.  I am majoring in special education.  My goal is to teach and coach.  Currently I am an assistant baseball coach at Picayune and do some paraprofessianal work and substitute teach at the high school.  The choice to major  in special education did not come straight to me.  After playing ball at PRCC for a while I was not too sure if I wanted to coach.  I was asked to help coach shortly after leaving PRCC and decide to pursue a career in coaching high school baseball.  I chose special education for the simple reason I believe we are here to help people, not to mention I am horrible in math and science.  I chose the high school level because I think this is when people are given roots and are shaped and molded into who they are deep down.  Some of the things I enjoy to do are hunting, fishing, softball, and pretty much anything outdoors.  I am a Christian and try my best to be the best I can be, but I fall short everyday.  I try to be laid back and easy going and most the time I am.  This computer stuff sometimes gets the best of me, but I am going to tackle it the best I can.  I think that technology is a useful way to learn new things and to get information out.
